The Monsoon Acanthus Votive is exquisitely handcrafted in fine bone china with an elegant silhouette inspired by the leaves of the Acanthus plant. A classical adornment atop Corinthian columns and in Greek art and architectural elements dating back to 500 BCE, the Acanthus leaf motif was a symbol of rebirth and immortality. The votive features an organic, overlapping placement of beautifully articulated leaves that reach up to the vessel’s open edge in an intriguing, asymmetrical placement. Watertight, with a wide mouth, the Acanthus votive is as lovely holding a cluster of freshly cut blooms as it is a flickering candle, creating a shadow play within its sophisticated translucence.
